PBX Phone System

PBX phone system is such an integral part of our everyday lives that, for most of us, it goes completely unnoticed. PBX stands for ‘Private Branch Exchange’, and is used as a catch-all term to describe the internal phone systems used by businesses. Nowadays, the technology behind the PBX phone system has advanced to the point where it can offer an incredibly expansive range of extra features, including voice mail, call forwarding and automatic ring-back. At the heart of private branch exchanges, however, lies one simple motive – to save money.

PBX phone system was produced in response to a common problem – originally, calls within a business would be directed over the public telephone network. This meant that every call made within an office had to be paid for like any local call – even if the colleague that the call was intended for was only metres away! The ability to communicate effectively within an organization with minimal costs was very attractive to businesses, but they were initially slow to take up the PBX phone system – although the system was enthusiastically adopted as technology improved.

Advantages of PBX Phone System:-

One of the advantages of this phone system that many business owners could not pass up is the cost of phone calls. They can save much on phone calls within the company only. As technology progresses, they can do more than just call. There are more features added to the telephone system such as extension dialing and call forwarding. With these additional features, office systems became more competent.
